PEER & THE BOARD OF BARBER EXAMINERS

Last week I was asked to participate in a Zoom Call with fellow Barber School Owners. I chose not to participate because I felt, that most people were not aware of the recent PEER review of The Mississippi State Board of Barber Examiners.

For those who are not familiar with this review, PEER is an acronym for the Joint Legislative Committee on Performance Evaluation and Expenditure Review, a nonpartisan standing committee of the Mississippi Legislature. Created in 1973, PEER provides the Legislature with timely and accurate information on Mississippi state government in order to enable that body to perform its function of legislative oversight. PEER analyzes state agency programs and operations and helps the Legislature make state government more effective, efficient, and accountable.

The 90 plus page report dropped 12-12-2022. This is a MUST-read report and in reading you will understand why your State Legislators are taking such extreme action. By no means do I agree on the proposed bill, but reading this report will give you an insight. We MUST HOLD BOARD MEMBERS ACCOUNTABLE!!! Over the coming days I will share highlight of this review. I will ask you do you have concerns. I will share my experiences with The Mississippi Board of Barber Examiners with you. I hope platform with give US, THE BARBER SCHOOLS OF MISSISSIPPI a platform to have a collective voice.
